Laser IPL/Diode Technician

IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) and diode laser training teaches you to operate two of the most widely used laser and light-based platforms in aesthetic clinics. IPL treats pigmentation, sun damage, rosacea, and performs photo-rejuvenation, while diode lasers are the gold standard for laser hair removal across all skin types. This course at BC Medical Clinic covers both technologies, including hair removal protocols, skin rejuvenation treatments, and safety standards.

The total cost is $1,650, including $1,500 in tuition and $150 in fees for 5 hours of laser training. This is one of the most affordable laser hair removal certification programs in British Columbia. Training takes place at BC Medical Clinic in Coquitlam with hands-on practice using professional IPL and diode laser equipment.

IPL and laser are related but different technologies. IPL uses broad-spectrum pulsed light to target hair follicles and pigmented lesions, while diode laser uses a single focused wavelength (typically 808nm or 810nm) for more precise hair removal. No medical background or prior experience is required to enrol in this course — beginners are welcome. You must be at least 18 years old with valid government-issued photo ID. The course covers laser fundamentals, safety protocols, contraindications, skin typing, and treatment planning from the ground up.
